Dear Friends of the Adorno Fathers,
I am pleased to inform you that at our recent Delegation Meeting, and after much prayer and consultation with our brothers from our various communities within the Delegation, we made a few changes in order to address the needs of the communities. I have been transferred from St. Joseph, Lodi, where I served as Pastor, to our House of Formation in Ramsey, New Jersey to serve as the Superior of the House along with my other responsibilities, of being the Delegate Superior of the Adorno Fathers for the USA and Philippines. Rev. Jun Abog, CRM, my predecessor in Ramsey will continue his ministry, and for one year will teach at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. Fr. Nony Villaluz, CRM is now the new pastor of St. Joseph Lodi and the Superior its House. Rev. Gerry Coquilla, CRM will be in residence at St. Joseph’s and will work at the Hackensack Medical Center as one of the Catholic Chaplains. This is a new ministry for the delegation, namely the hospital chaplaincy. We pray that this new ministry, which is rooted in our charism, will be an additional source of blessings for our priests who minister in the Archdiocese of Newark. Rev. Arman Hagos, CRM has been transferred from the Adorno Fathers Formation House of Vinzons Camarines Norte, to Saint Joseph Church in Lodi as Parochial Vicar in order to assist Fr. Nony Villaluz, CRM. Fr. Giovannie Nunez, CRM who was at Jesus Our Risen Savior has been transferred to St. Anne and St. Jude Parish as Parish Administrator while Fr. Frank Palmieri, CRM is on sick leave.
We also welcome to our Delegation our brother priest from India and Africa. Rev. Binil Attappattu, CRM is from India and was sent by our Father General to help us with our parish ministry in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Rev. Dismas Bahati, CRM who when he arrived from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to help originally at our community in Sumter, is now moving to Goose Creek due to the demand for more priestly personnel at this unstoppable growing parish! Further, we want to commend the Pastor of Immaculate Conception in Goose Creek for the wonderful work he is doing at the parish.
This year, we are also happy to receive in the community of St. Michael Seminary House of Studies in Ramsey, two newly simple professed Seminarians who will continue their theological studies at Seton Hall: Brothers Harvey Bermudez, CRM, and Samuel James Maestro, CRM. We are also pleased to announce that we have two new Seminarians from two of the parishes that we serve. They are Nathaniel Maniago from St. Joseph Lodi, who is aspiring to be a Brother in our religious community and Osnar Villanueva from Immaculate Conception Goose Creek who will be with us for one year to study English and eventually will be sent to the Philippines for his continuing education. We also proudly note that on June 7, 2017, Brothers Kevin Daborbor, CRM and Rufino Madridejos, CRM made their Solemn Profession of religious vows. They are now assigned to our parish communities in the south to continue the remaining formative months before they are ordained to the Sacred Orders.
Friends, I thank all of you for your continued support of the Adorno Fathers; please never tire of assisting us in any way you can. We are determined to continue our work for the Church and the Order. You are part of this great work in spreading the Gospel. We in the Seminary community are in much need of your support and your prayers. We do not have very many sources of revenue, but we rely mainly upon your donations and generosity. If you have any Mass in- tentions or prayers you want us to pray for, please send them to us and we assure you that we will pray for your inten- tions at all of our Houses of Formation.
I would like to end this message in the same way our Holy Founder, St. Francis Caracciolo, ended his letter to his broth- ers and it goes like this, Remember to pray to God for me, so that I may begin now to serve Him. Keep us in your pray- ers so that everyday we keep our feet to the ground and also keep us true to the Gospel. May God Bless you!
Remember me in your prayers,
Fr. Ted Kalaw, CRM
Superior of the US-Philippine Delegation
