Several proposals were made during the chapter deliberations and some are worth noting here:
Director of Vocations should be given enough time and resources to execute his office.
As the Vocation Director, full time is needed and it should be a distinct task from other duties. In other words, this ministry must be prioritized and be given proper attention. The chapter fathers approved the proposal and appointed Deacon Kevin Daborbor, CRM as the Vocation Director of the Adorno Fathers in the United States. Fr. Arnel Hagos, CRM will work as the Vocation Director in the Philippines.
Another proposal made was the need for a digital and online presence of the Adorno Fathers known as APPS. This initiative will serve as the online ministry of the Adorno Fathes by reaching out to people of all ages via multimedia. Other ideas raised were establishing an online store and, digital productions, offering SMPU Mass Cards online, etc. All chapter Fathers were in favor.
Appoint a coordinator for continuous formation and education. Continuing formation of the priests and solemn professed religious is very important for the renewing and updating of essential elements of the ministry. There is a need amongst priests to update themselves with the theology, Canon Law, liturgy, and other essential information for the ministry. Sabbatical time also is part of the updating and the delegation council will have to appoint a coordinator for this ministry. All chapter fathers agreed.
Since the opening of a house in the Philippines in 2002, and having produced many vocations, it is time to give back to the Philippine Church through an apostolate or a mission. Ideas like an Orphanage partnership with other congregations, opening a mission parish, a rehabilitation for addicts and other missions which express the charism and spirituality of the Order. The chapter fathers agreed and gave the delegation council the mandate to look into it and present it to the General Chapter in Rome this year.
Another proposal was to propagate devotion to St. Francis Caracciolo as patron saint of chefs in the Philippines and in the United States. In 1996, St John Paul II declared St. Francis Caracciolo Patron saint of chefs in Italy. All these proposals are a sign of life and of our willingness to look to the future with hope. Continue to pray for us as we are on the threshold of our General Chapter.
