Father Teodoro O. Kalaw, CRM was born in Lipa City, Philippines, on September 10, 1977. One of six children, he is the son of Francisco and Belen Kalaw. He graduated from De La Salle University in Lipa City, Philippines, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education.
He formally entered the Adorno Fathers’ House of Formation in Ramsey, New Jersey, in August 1999.
For his theological studies, he enrolled at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Seton Hall University where he obtained a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Theology.
He made his Solemn Profession of Vows on June 18, 2005, and was ordained a priest by Most Reverend John W. Fleesey, Auxiliary Bishop of Newark, on December 8, 2005 in St. Joseph Church, Lodi, New Jersey.
After his ordination, he was assigned to the Adorno Fathers Formation House in Ramsey, New Jersey from 2005-2007. He was then assigned to the Adorno Fathers Seminary in Vinzons, Camarines Norte, Philippines from 2007-2009 as the vocation director and administrator.
In 2010, he was transferred to Jesus Our Risen Savior Parish in Spartanburg, South Carolina as Parochial Vicar.
On September 5, 2012, he was appointed Superior of the USA-Philippine Delegation which position he held for six years. In August of 2015, he was elected as the delegate of the US-Philippine Delegation. He was also appointed pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Lodi, NJ. In 2017, he left St Joseph so as to dedicate more time to his responsibilities as Superior of the Delegation. He was subsequently assigned superior to the Adorno House of Formation in Ramsey, NJ.
At the 63rdGeneral Chapter in Rome, he was elected as the 60th Superior General of the Clerics Regular Minor – Adorno Fathers – Padri Caracciolini – Péres Caracciolini on July 11, 2018.
Surprised and with mixed emotions, the new Superior General assures that he will lead the Order through the spirit of renewal which the Holy Spirit will lead us while keeping in our way of life the charism and spirituality which the Holy Founders have handed down to us. He thanks God for the opportunity to serve and for the trust of his confreres.
