On February 25, 2020, Most Reverend Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, DD of the Diocese of Daet has appointed Rev. Fr. Arnel Hagos, CRM as parish administrator pro tempore of the Parish of St. Roch, Brgy. Larap, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte Philippines effective immediately.
Fr. Arnel is the first Adorno in the Philippines to hold a parish assignment. He was one of the candidates who came to the Adorno Fathers in Labo, Philippines, when the seminary first opened. He attended Holy Trinity College Seminary in Labo and, after graduation, he made his novitiate in Vinzons, Philippines, and his Simple Profession of Vows there also.
In 2008 he was sent to the United States and studied theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary/Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, while residing in the Adorno House in Ramsey.
He returned to the Philippines in 2013 and spent one year in pastoral exposure before making his Solemn Profession on June 15, 2014 in Vinzons.
He was ordained Deacon by Bishop Arturo Bastes, Bishop of Sorsogon, in Saint Joseph Church, Gabao, Phillipines, on October 27, 2014. He was ordained a priest by Bishop Benjamin Almoneda in the Vinzons Chapel on June 4, 2015.
When asked about his new assignment, he said, “this is really a great challenge for me as a priest as a first timer to handle a parish. I am nervous but confident that I can take on the work with the grace of the Lord. I need your prayers.”
Fr. Arnel will make preparations for this new role, transferring from our Seminary in Vinzons where he worked as a formator and will still serve as the vocation promoter for the Adorno Fathers.
