There is excitement in knowing the status of every house in the delegation. Each representative gives the report to the chapter, discussing strengths and weaknesses of every house and the plans for the future.
The brotherly love and concern for each one is what makes this band of brothers able to continue the mission of the Adorno Fathers in this delegation. One of the chapter fathers says that it is in the act of charity toward one another in spite of our flaws that we champion in the community life.
Being selfless in living out the religious vows transforms not only the person but also the community. It is a cry of every member to be able to mature in a sacrificial offering of the self to God and to the wonderful charism the Lord has given to the Order.
In his opening address to all chapter fathers, the Father General mentions that “What we are doing is truly a blessing and a sacred duty as we are summoned to the spirit of renewal. Allow this holy work to be a spotless offering to the Lord. Be prayerful during this time and may charity and brotherhood be the center of this gathering. I bless you and will keep you in my prayers during this time. Be one in unity, faith, and charity.”
Prayers and Celebrations of the Mass are integral part and at the heart of the delegation chapter. The singing, reflections, Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, celebration of the Holy Mass, sharing a meal are the essential parts of this gathering. We bring all the prayers and intentions of all the religious in the delegation and the whole Order including the intentions of the people we minister.
Through the intercession and inspiration of the Founders, the chapter fathers hope to mirror in the life of everyone in each religious house the commonality of our work in God’s vineyard and reflect the ideals stated in the Constitution of the Clerics Regular Minor (Adorno Fathers) states: “Common is God, common is the commitment to perfection, common are the difficulties, common the work, common the salvation, common finally will be the glory” (Const. 69 Chapter IV).
